In the 2018 NBA Playoffs, a rookie Jayson Tatum became a star. The Boston Celtics’ primary stars were injured, so Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Terry Rozier put the Celtics on their back. They eliminated the Bucks and Sixers, making it to the Eastern Conference Finals. There, they almost knocked LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers off, but lost in Game 7.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown played well with Kemba Walker. Unfortunately, each season following the 2018 run has been disappointing. In 2020, the Celtics did return to the Eastern Conference Finals, during the bubble. Since then, Boston has only made the playoffs as a lower seeded team. Last year, they lost in the first round to the Brooklyn Nets.

This season, the Boston Celtics have struggled, after trading Kemba Walker to the Knicks. A team built to contend for titles, the Celtics are not even holding a playoff spot, right now. Fortunately for them, there is a lot of time to turn the season around. The Celtics have All-Star caliber players who can lead this turnaround.

Last night, Jayson Tatum reminded people why he is considered a top-tier talent. As their game, against the Indiana Pacers, came to a close, it looked like a Pacers’ win. Instead, Tatum hit a clutch shot to send the game into overtime. That’s where the Celtics won.
