Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are the NBA duo of the future. In the NBA Finals, Tatum and Brown’s Boston Celtics lead the Golden State Warriors 2-1. Clearly, the future is now. However, this season, there were calls to break Tatum and Brown up. In 2018, Tatum and Brown showed early signs that they were the Celtics’ best players. After trying and failing with a third point guard franchise player, the Celtics gave Tatum and Brown the keys.

Jayson Tatum emerged as the Boston Celtics’ leader, this season. Through half of the season, the Celtics were not very good. The Celtics were below .500 and they were not even in the play-in picture, let alone the playoff picture. After an early January loss, Jayson Tatum stepped up. Tatum led the Celtics to the best record in the NBA, after that period. The Celtics closed the season out better than the Suns, Grizzlies, Warriors, Heat, and Mavericks.

Jayson Tatum played like an MVP and people began calling him a superstar. In the playoffs, Tatum came up with huge performances against the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat. Tatum held his own against Giannis, a true superstar. Furthermore, Jayson Tatum outplayed Jimmy Butler, a player some say doesn’t have enough to be considered a superstar. In the NBA Finals, Jayson Tatum is finding his footing. At halftime, he was clearly frustrated with Jaylen Brown for taking a bad shot, when he was open.
