Jimmy Butler punched Trae Young while battling for the ball

Over the years, Jimmy Butler has become something of an anti-hero, in the NBA. From his friendship with Rachel Nichols, to how he carries himself on the court, people have something to say. One thing about it, Butler is unafraid to be controversial. When he became the Bulls’ franchise player, he epitomized their scrappy style of play.

After stints with the Timberwolves and Sixers, Jimmy Butler signed with the Miami Heat. Immediately, he became the Heat’s franchise player. Since 2014, the Miami Heat had floundered, lasting as a fringe playoff team. The year before Butler signed, Dwyane Wade’s final year, the Heat barely missed the playoffs. But, it was fitting so Wade could enjoy his definite final game.

Jimmy Butler has brought a tough energy to the Miami Heat. This level of scrappiness the Heat hadn’t had since the 1990s era. Tonight, the Heat played the Atlanta Hawks, as they are trying to jump into the number one seed in the East. Towards the end of the game, Jimmy Butler and Trae Young battled for the ball, and Butler ended up punching him.
