Josh Hart angrily rips his jersey after missing free throws

The New Orleans Pelicans are a team to keep an eye on, because they are being counted out. For the indefinite future, Zion Williamson will not be a part of the team. Through his career, Zion has dealt with all kinds of injuries. This was prevented the Pelicans, and their fans, from seeing what they have in their number one draft pick.

Through their brief history, the New Orleans Pelicans have fared well with draft picks. After their relocation, the Hornets fell to one of the NBA’s worst records. During this time, they traded away franchise player, Baron Davis. Things worked out well, as they drafted Chris Paul, who gave them an MVP-caliber season, as they went 56-26, in 2008, and lost to the Spurs in Game 7 of the second round.

In 2011, the Hornets traded Chris Paul to the Clippers, and then earned the top draft pick. Anthony Davis would then become the Pelicans’ franchise player. Davis got them to the playoffs twice in seven years, peaking in 2018, at 48-34, losing to the Warriors in five games. Despite landing the top pick, AD still left for the Lakers, as Zion Williamson was drafted.

Because of injuries, Zion has never played, so the role players do their thing. Tonight, the Pelicans beat the Knicks in New York. But, Josh Hart ripped his jersey, during the game, after missing free throws.
