Kevin Durant falls down and injures his ankle

Expected to contend for the title, the Brooklyn Nets are battling the Charlotte Hornets for the play-in. A lot has changed with this team. After the nine game losing streak, James Harden was traded for Ben Simmons. The losing streak extended to eleven games, as Ben Simmons has yet to make his debut. Then, there is Kyrie Irving and his vaccine stance. Kyrie missing most of the season has hurt the Nets, but he’s making up for it in road games.

Kevin Durant and James Harden briefly had the Nets holding the East’s best record. An injury to KD led to mid-season Brooklyn Nets collapse. With Kevin Durant healthy and Kyrie Irving dropping 60 points on the road, the Nets may opt to fall to the bottom of the play-in. Doing that would allow Kyrie to play on the road, giving Brooklyn a higher chance of winning. From there, if they make the playoffs, they stand a chance against either the Heat, Sixers, or Bucks.

Brooklyn Nets’ fans got a major scare when Kevin Durant went to drive the ball. He slid to the ground and right out of his shoe. KD was in immense pain and it looked like it was a serious injury. Clearly, Kevin Durant got injured, but it was nothing too serious. As important as the game is, it would have been a devastating blow to lose KD. Instead, the Nets lost the game to the Mavericks.
