Kevin Durant walks off the court with time left on the clock

Kevin Durant had plans when he joined the Brooklyn Nets. Three years in, Kevin Durant has seen the opposite of his plans come to fruition. On paper, the Nets won the 2019 free agency period. The Nets were already a playoff team. After a first round playoff loss, in 2019, the Nets signed Kyrie Irving and then Kevin Durant.

Kevin Durant was injured for the 2019-2020 season and then the bubble happened. So the Nets’ fans knew that 2020-2021 was the year. The Nets traded for James Harden to make sure everything went right. However, injuries slowed the Nets, anyway. After being the first team to earn a playoff berth, the Nets fell to the second seed. In the playoffs, Giannis and the Bucks upset the Nets.

Kevin Durant, despite more injuries in 2022, became the Brooklyn Nets’ only constant. The Nets’ season fell apart and James Harden was traded for Ben Simmons. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving salvaged the season, having to go through the play-in to earn the seventh seed. Jayson Tatum already told the Nets the Celtics would sweep, but Brooklyn had a chance, tonight. It didn’t happen and KD walked off.
