Kevin Porter, Jr. gets ejected for hip-checking Charlie Brown | Sixers at Rockets [VIDEO]

This season, the Houston Rockets have been the NBA’s most-interesting team. For the most part, they are one of the league’s worst teams. Nothing is shocking about this, because they were projected to be a bottom-tier team. After failing to put championship pieces around James Harden, the Rockets traded him to the Brooklyn Nets, early last season. Immediately, the Rockets crumbled, finishing 17-55, in a crisis-shortened season.

Officially rebuilding, the Rockets missed the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Their reality is no longer competing with the Warriors and the Clippers. The NBA has shifted, anyway, with the West being dominated by the Suns, Jazz, and Grizzlies. This season, the Warriors had to fight their way back into the conversation by posting the NBA’s best record. The Rockets, meanwhile, were projected to have the league’s worst record.

For the most part, they did that, but had a stunning win over the Chicago Bulls. The win wasn’t completely shocking, as the Rockets lost 15 straight games, before the win. But, this sparked an unexpected seven game winning streak for the Rockets. That run was historic, but ended by the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. Even more oddly, the Rockets seem to have fallen right back into being one of the league’s worst teams.

Last night, the Rockets took a 111-91 home loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Ironically, that game gave the Sixers a seven game win streak. During the game, Kevin Porter, Jr. gave a hip-check to Charlie Brown, Jr., leading many to anticipate a fight. Instead, the two hugged, but Porter wound up ejected from the game.
