Kyrie Irving pushes Rajon Rondo after tough defensive move
There is always tension when Kyrie Irving plays the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 2016, Kyrie Irving helped lead the Cavs to their only championship. The following season, the motivated Golden State Warriors added Kevin Durant. Gracefully, the Warriors defeated the Cavaliers in five games. Almost immediately after the 2017 NBA Finals, Kyrie Irving demanded a trade. The Boston Celtics traded Isaiah Thomas for Kyrie Irving.
Kyrie Irving was injured for most of his first year with the Celtics. In 2017, the Celtics added Irving and also Gordon Hayward. Both Irving and Hayward were injured in the 2018 season. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown stepped up in their absence. Once Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward returned, the Celtics struggled. As a result, the Celtics lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round.
In 2019, Kyrie Irving signed with the Brooklyn Nets. Kevin Durant left the Warriors to also join the Nets. The past three years have been a struggle for Kyrie and KD. Durant missed the 2020 season and injuries slowed them in 2021. This year, Kyrie Irving not getting vaccinated slowed things. Still, the Nets made the play-in, fitting playing Cleveland. Here, Kyrie and Rajon Rondo got into it, but Brooklyn won to now face the Celtics in the first round.
