Kyrie Irving scores his first points of the season
For reasons that everybody should know, by now, Kyrie Irving has missed half of the season. Despite this, the Brooklyn Nets have maintained the East’s top record, for most of the season. Until lately, the Nets were on top of the East, but the Chicago Bulls have taken that position. Even though the season is in full swing, now, most contenders don’t fully turn up until after the All-Star Game.
Kyrie Irving signed with the Brooklyn Nets with the intention of teaming up with Kevin Durant. Both joined the team, in 2019, but KD missed their first season together, due to the injuries he sustained during Game 2 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Prior to playing for the Nets, Kevin Durant played for the Golden State Warriors, the same team Kyrie won his only championship against.
In 2021, Kyrie Irving is living in the reality that he hasn’t played in the Finals, since losing to Kevin Durant’s Warriors, in 2017. His stint with the Boston Celtics was supposed to produce championships, but they couldn’t get over the hurdles that were the Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks. So, he moved on to Brooklyn.
Finally, Kyrie Irving made his return, as the Nets visited the Indiana Pacers. Here, he scored his first points of the season.
