Kyrie Irving turnover costs Brooklyn the win | Nets at Cavaliers [VIDEO]

Kyrie Irving turnover costs Brooklyn the win vs Cleveland

Initially, Kyrie Irving looked like he would be a lifer for the Cleveland Cavaliers. But, it turns out that the Cavs’ Game 5 loss, against the Warriors in the 2017 NBA Finals would be his last game in a Cavaliers’ jersey. Tired of sharing the spotlight with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving demanded a trade, and he would land with the Boston Celtics. This trade altered the career of Isaiah Thomas.

On paper, the Boston Celtics were expected to do well, as Kyrie was paired with Gordon Hayward. Both stars would miss the playoffs, however. This gave way to Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Terry Rozier leading the way. While Brown and Tatum formed the future Celtics’ duo, Rozier and Hayward would become teammates with the Hornets. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving joined the Nets.

Three years in, the Brooklyn Nets are still trying trying to get the full Kyrie Irving/Kevin Durant experience. When James Harden joined the team, he was considered insurance in case something went wrong. Thus far, everything has gone wrong, but the Nets continue to contend. Facing the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cavs are playing their best basketball since Kyrie was on the roster.

The game was close and Cleveland was in control, late in the game. A late-game turnover ended up costing Brooklyn the win. A pass that Kyrie Irving was unable to handle cost the Nets the game.
