Kyrie Irving walks off after Hawks beat Nets and throws ball down

Last night, the Brooklyn Nets had an important game against the Atlanta Hawks. Already, the Nets had an important home game against the Charlotte Hornets that they lost. Kevin Durant was determined for this game in Atlanta to be different. To make sure this happened, Kevin Durant scored 55 points, which is his new career high.

Trae Young is also a man on a mission, as he is determined to get the Hawks back to the playoffs. Young was a part of that 2018 draft class. The draft class also included Ja Morant and Luka Doncic. Last year, Trae Young was the first member of that draft to go on a deep playoff run. This year, Trae Young has been overlooked, as Ja Morant has led the Grizzlies to the NBA’s second best record. Luka Doncic, meanwhile, has led Dallas to their most wins since 2014.

Throughout the game, the Hawks were blowing the Brooklyn Nets out. The game is just indicative of how the season has gone. Aside from a late November stretch, the Nets haven’t played like title contenders. Kevin Durant made his frustration visible, throughout the game. As it was clear the Nets were going to lose, Kyrie Irving apologized to Kevin Durant. Furthermore, Kyrie’s own frustration was evident when he walked off without shaking hands.
