LaMelo Ball tells Kyrie Irving that he can’t guard him
This season, the Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets have both had up and down seasons. Early in the year, both teams looked like contenders. During the middle of the season, both teams struggled. The similarities are actually jarring. When it comes to the Nets and the Hornets, the franchises are on different trajectories. For the Nets, they are expected to be title contenders. On the other hand, the Hornets are a young team just trying to make something happen.
In LaMelo Ball, the Hornets have something only a handful of franchises have. LaMelo Ball is considered to be the future of the NBA. Despite being a young player, LaMelo Ball is a good three point shooter, and a good closer. In the past eleven games, LaMelo Ball has begun to put all of his skills together, which is making the Hornets a tough team to beat. Aside from that, LaMelo Ball has a new mentor in the form of Isaiah Thomas.
Last night, LaMelo Ball was feeling himself. During the third quarter, the Hornets got themselves back in the game. LaMelo Ball was the reason why, as he caught fire. Ball would hit three consecutive three pointers, to gain control of the game. Definitely feeling himself, LaMelo Ball told Kyrie Irving he couldn’t guard him. The Hornets would get a much needed win, as they came into Brooklyn, and beat the Nets 119-110.
