LaMelo Ball tries to catch Andre Drummond as he falls | Nets at Hornets [VIDEO]

LaMelo Ball tries to catch Andre Drummond as he falls

In the East, the playoff picture looks much differently than most expected. The battle for the eighth seed is between the Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets. With their Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, the Nets were supposed to be the NBA’s best team. Instead, the Nets’ Big 3 consists of KD, Kyrie, and an inactive Ben Simmons. While the Nets briefly held the East’s best record, they also lost eleven straight games, during which time Harden was traded.

With the Charlotte Hornets, they shocked the entire NBA. Early this season, the Hornets played well. The team got wins over the Nets, Bucks twice, Sixers, Warriors, Cavaliers, and Celtics. Through the first half of the season, the Hornets looked like contenders. Gordon Hayward went down with injuries and the Hornets imploded. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat took over the East, the Bucks got their act together, and Joel Embiid’s MVP play put the Sixers back in the conversation.

Tonight, the Nets went to Charlotte to play the struggling Hornets. The pressure is on the Nets to deliver, so they came into Charlotte and dominated the Hornets. Kyrie Irving would drop 50 points. But early in the game, Andre Drummond got hit in the head, and he fell to the ground. LaMelo Ball was behind Andre Drummond and he did his best to catch him.
