LeBron insane elevation to catch Malik Monk lob!
This season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had their fair share of trouble. Sitting just below .500, LeBron James offered an apology to the fans. In 2020, the Lakers assembled a roster that won the championship. The following season, the Lakers looked primed to win a second championship, in a row, starting the season 21-7. From that moment on, injuries decimated the team, and they would have to compete in the play-in, only to lose to the Suns in the first round.
LeBron James helped recruit former teammates, Rajon Rondo and Dwight Howard, from the 2020 squad, back to the team. He also helped recruit Carmelo Anthony, while Russell Westbrook arrived via a trade with the Wizards, involving Kyle Kuzma. This squad is stacked and they’ve massively underperformed, but they played one of the NBA’s worst teams tonight. Many feel games like these are “trap games,” where the worst team has something to prove.
Tonight, the Lakers put on a show, playing how fans believed they would’ve played all season. Granted, all of this is against one of the NBA’s worst teams, but it’s still a highlight. In the lane, Malik Monk threw up a lob and LeBron James nearly jumped out of the building with the ball. When he came back down, he put the Magic crowd on notice.
