In the nineteenth year of his career, LeBron James is putting up MVP numbers. But, he is playing for a sub-.500 team for only the third time in his career. What’s unsettling about this is that two of those three seasons have come in the past three years. Since joining the Lakers, LeBron James has won a championship, but also missed the playoffs for only the third time in his career. The way this season has looked, the Lakers may only have a play-in spot, but they’re only hanging onto that.

LeBron James has been one of the best players in the NBA, historically. Essentially through his entire career, LeBron James has been one of the league’s top five players. In 2003, LeBron James put the Cleveland Cavaliers back on the map. During his first stint with the Cavs, LeBron took Cleveland from a 15 win team to their first NBA Finals appearance. His tenure there saw LeBron James win two MVP awards and led Cleveland to a 66 win season.

Last night, the Lakers entered their home game against the Utah Jazz at 27-31. Despite ending the game with a win, they lost Anthony Davis. All season, LeBron James has been mentoring Austin Reaves. But, when Austin Reaves messed up on defense, LeBron’s frustrations mounted. This led to LeBron James going off on him.
