LeBron James shakes Russell Westbrook’s hand last of all the Laker players | Thunder at Lakers [VIDEO]
LeBron James shakes Russell Westbrook’s hand last
While there were always people who doubted the Lakers this season, few predicted a 30 win season. A lot of people thought LeBron James and Anthony Davis were good enough to at least secure a top six record. Instead, the Lakers hovered around the eighth spot for the entire season. Towards the end of the season, the Lakers collapsed. The Lakers’ collapse allowed for the Pelicans and Spurs to jump ahead of them, pushing them out of the postseason, entirely.
Russell Westbrook has taken much of the blame for the Lakers’ struggles. Much of this is unfair, as Westbrook was brought in to be the third scoring option. Westbrook ended up shouldering much of the load, this season, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis missing a lot of games. James Harden went through a similar struggle with the Nets. However, the Nets managed to trade Harden, and they at least salvaged their season into a play-in berth.
The Lakers, meanwhile, have been eliminated from all postseason contention. Last night, the Lakers hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder. LeBron James injured his ankle, late in the season, so he’s missed the last few games. However, Russell Westbrook has played for most of the season. Towards the end of last night’s game, LeBron shook hands with his teammates. Russell Westbrook ended up being the last person he dapped, likely due to Russ walking up to the bench.
