LeBron James throws down MONSTER dunk, catches Damian Lillard slipping | Blazers at Lakers [VIDEO]

LeBron James throws down monster dunk vs Trail Blazers

Historically, the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers are two of the best teams in NBA history. Until 2020, the Lakers suffered historic futility, having missed the prior six playoffs. When they returned, they won the NBA championship, in the bubble. After the 2018 Finals, LeBron James signed with the Lakers, and initial projections had him continuing his rivalry with Golden State in the Western Conference Finals.

Instead, the LeBron Lakers missed their first chance to make the playoffs. But, 2020 saw the Lakers defeat the Portland Trail Blazers, led by Damian Lillard, en route to their championship. In 2021, the Lakers would beat the Warriors in the play-in tournament to gain the NBA’s seventh seed. This earned LA a playoff matchup with the Phoenix Suns, who ended their season in six games. The Lakers would prove to be the Suns’ toughest matchup, until they reached the NBA Finals, where they lost to Giannis’ Milwaukee Bucks.

Last night, the Lakers got a much-needed win, playing the Portland Trail Blazers. This team has struggled more than the LA Lakers, if that says anything. During Damian Lillard’s time with Portland, the Blazers have never missed the playoffs. It looks like they may, this year, but LeBron James is making sure somebody finishes below his Lakers. In the middle of what became a 139-106 Lakers blowout win, LeBron threw down a huge dunk, putting an exclamation point on the game.
