Nobody expected the Lakers to struggle like this. The early season struggles were understandable, but it was expected that the Lakers would figure it out. Instead, the Lakers are on the outside looking in, on the playoff landscape. This comes in spite of the Lakers having a deep roster, on paper. LeBron James is putting up MVP level numbers, but it’s not showing in the win/loss column. In his four years with the Lakers, LeBron James will have missed the playoffs twice.

During All-Star Weekend, LeBron James openly voiced his frustration with the Lakers’ management. But, many pundits have said LeBron has no reason to be upset with management. The front office came together with the roster that LeBron James asked for. Whatever the case, LeBron James’ Lakers have had some terrible struggles, in 2022. Despite all of the struggles, the Lakers maintained a .500 record, for most of the season, and held onto the final playoff spot.

However, the New Orleans Pelicans are a team that is making a strong push for the playoffs. After a 1-12 start, the Pelicans are within the play-in. Last night, the Pelicans visited the Lakers in Los Angeles, and they blew the team out. Early, LeBron James got booed by the home crowd. With 2.8 seconds left in the game, LeBron James walked off, as the crowd booed the whole Lakers team. The Lakers lost 123-95 at home to New Orleans.
