LeBron James walks past teammates to shake hands with CP3
It’s been clear that LeBron James has been frustrated with the Lakers for a while. When they reconstructed the 2020 roster, LeBron James expected to contend for a championship. In hindsight, the Lakers probably should have kept their 2021 roster intact. Before injuries caught up to the Lakers, they were 22-7, in 2021. The Lakers fell from the second seed into the play-in, where they beat the Warriors to earn the seventh seed, where they lost to the Phoenix Suns.
LeBron James definitely wants to win another championship. Nineteen years in, LeBron James winning another title as the team’s best player would be amazing. Despite LeBron James still playing at an elite level, it’s clear age is catching up to him. With the Lakers having an older roster, these younger teams are just a bit too much for them. What was key in the Warriors’ resurgence was how well Steph Curry was playing with the younger guys. Once the vets came back from injury, things slowed down.
The Phoenix Suns have been contenders all season, because Devin Booker is the leader. Chris Paul definitely does his thing, but he shows Devin Booker how to be a leader. Aside from CP3 and Devin Booker, the Suns have a core of young players, with veterans like JaVale McGee sprinkled in. Last night, the Suns eliminated the Lakers for the second straight year. After the game, LeBron James walked past his teammates, except Anthony Davis, to talk to Chris Paul.
