Montrezl Harrell gets into a fight with Robin Lopez
The Charlotte Hornets are one of the most interesting franchises in all of sports. When they were an expansion team, the Hornets embraced the colors of purple and teal. Those colors ended up becoming a fashion statement. In the early 1990s, the Hornets became a competitive team, and drafted Kobe Bryant. Through the early 2000s, the Hornets continued to field playoff teams, but wound up relocating to New Orleans.
While the Hornets played in New Orleans, the Bobcats replaced them in Charlotte. Their logo and colors only brought ridicule. Unfairly, the Bobcats are looked at as a bad team. Aside from the lockout 2012 season, the Bobcats also had competitive teams. However, the difference is that the Bobcats only made the playoffs twice. During the 2014 playoff year, the Bobcats revealed they were changing their name to the Hornets. When the deal went through, they also claimed the Hornets’ franchise history.
The Hornets have had their name back for eight years, but only have one playoff appearance to show for it. However, the Hornets have locked in two playoff appearances in this new LaMelo Ball era. Tonight, the Hornets got a blowout win over the Orlando Magic. Towards the end of the game, Robin Lopez and Montrezl Harrell got into it. After watching the replays, the refs ejected Robin Lopez from the game, which was already decided.
