But, Nikola Jokic defied all the odds, and put the Nuggets back on the map. In 2020, he led them to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2009. History repeated itself, though, as Jokic’s Nuggets lost to the Lakers. Last season, Jokic won league MVP. Tonight, the Nuggets hosted the Sixers, and things got tense. A play the coach, Michael Malone, disagreed with led to the coach having words with him. Quickly, Coach Malone wanted to have more than words. But, the MVP, Jokic, stepped in, and prevented his coach from getting in trouble.
