An emcee many people are beginning to talk about and pay attention to is Jedi Nemesis. The Miami rapper is taking over the internet and he has a big following. A lot of rappers have emerged because of the internet over the past ten years.

Coming from Miami, Jedi Nemesis obviously is aware of the legacies that both Trick Daddy and Rick Ross have left. There is a rich history in the hip hop industry Miami has had over the past thirty years. Jedi Nemesis knows he can add to this in a memorable way.

Jedi Nemesis recently talked to Hip Hop Vibe for the latest On The Rise edition. In this interview, Jedi Nemesis briefly spoke on the Miami hip hop scene and the legacy of his city. But, he is more concerned with his own legacy and he discussed how he would expand upon this with his mixtape releases.

Read the entire interview below:

What would you say is the biggest inspiration of your sound? Well my sound has evolved over the last few years since I released my last tape, I used to be in love with heavily sampled music, but as my ear matured I’m now more inspired by original melodic music, open drums, some live instrumentation in there. Yeah.

Coming from Miami, do you look up to guys like Trick Daddy and Rick Ross? Sure, they’re both big inspirations for what they’ve accomplished, and for what they’ve done for the 305 .

You have a couple of mixtapes out so far, which of them do you think resonates with fans the most and why? 7 Layers for sure. People still ask me about lines from that tape. I think people fucked with it the way they did cause that when I grew tremendously as an emcee. And I don’t think, up until that point at least that people were expecting me to come hard with the lyrics, similes, extended metaphors and be in the pocket. Being that on the Eureka tape I was kinda rapping off beat on some of the songs and shit, but it’s all good.

The spring of 2015 is here and in full swing, what do you have coming out to keep your fans coming back? I wanna drop an EP before Pack Light comes out in May, I’m just not exactly certain how how much traction that would gain. So I’m just going to keep dropping records and building towards Pack Light.

Should the people expect to see you taking the stage at any of these Spring Break-type events? Nah, but they can expect to see me doing my pop up shows around town in the Downtown/Wynwood Area. I’m also trying to put together a tour for summer and fall.

What is the next move for you, in terms of your overall career? Launching my label and brands, really, and just being on the road doing shows, I’m also working on a more concrete concept tape dropping in late fall called Theme Music To A Drive By. I have a street wear brand and a skateboarding brand. So after I drop Pack Light, and the ball gets rolling, I will then establish my label and brands. So a lot of moves to be made there.

Can you let the people know where they can find you on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram? @JediNemesis on all social media.
