Derrick Rose makes Grizzlies debut vs Pacers in preseason
The Memphis Grizzlies are the most interesting team in the NBA, with so much going on. In Ja Morant, they have a guy with the potential to be the face of the league. But his actions have put him in a position where he could potentially be kicked out of the league. After two weapons incidents and two apologies, a suspension ruined Memphis’ season. Despite getting the second seed, they lost in the first round. It’s a new season and Derrick Rose has been brought in to be Ja’s vet.
Derrick Rose was once in the position that Ja Morant was in. However, his conduct was never his problem. Instead, injuries kept Rose from living up to his potential. In only his third year, D-Rose had the Chicago Bulls with the NBA’s best record. Also, he was the youngest MVP in league history, and had the Bulls in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the Michael Jordan era. Unfortunately, that’s the best that it ever got for the Bulls.
When injuries got the best of Rose, he accepted his position. The Bulls eventually traded him, as Rose became a journeyman. Meanwhile, the league has gone through several different eras. As a result, teams like the Grizzlies are on the rise. Stars like Ja Morant are changing the league. However, guys like Ja need a little guidance. Due to his suspension, Ja isn’t playing in the preseason. So, Derrick Rose held it down with 13 points in his first game with Memphis, defeating the Indiana Pacers.
