There are plenty of “fake tough guys” in the NBA, but Patrick Beverley isn’t one of them. Early in his career, Pat Bev was described as a player fans love if he’s on their team, but hate if he’s on the other team. Patrick Beverley gained prominence, during his time playing for the Houston Rockets. During their playoff matchups with the Golden State Warriors, Pat Bev annoyed the heck out of Stephen Curry.

Patrick Beverley is far from a star player, but he is a consummate winner. Every team he plays for winds up getting better. His stints with both the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers saw the teams make the Conference Finals for the first time in two decades, or the first time ever. The Minnesota Timberwolves have only made it past the first round once. When they did, they almost went to the Finals.

Now Patrick Beverley is a part of the supporting cast tasked with restoring the Minnesota Timberwolves to prominence. In 2018, the Wolves made a brief appearance in the playoffs. This season, they are playing well enough for the play-in. Tonight, they are hosting the Milwaukee Bucks. In tonight’s game, Patrick Beverley shoved Serge Ibaka, which led to Beverley’s ejection.
