Russell Westbrook gets booed for missing easy shot | Knicks at Lakers [VIDEO]

Russell Westbrook gets booed for missing easy shot

Last night, the Lakers were on ABC, hosting the New York Knicks. This season, the Knicks and Lakers have both struggled. During the offseason, the Lakers made many moves to return to championship contention. Russell Westbrook was among the players the Lakers traded for, during the 2021 offseason, and it was a great move, on paper.

From 2008 until 2019, Russell Westbrook played for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Alongside Kevin Durant, they put the NBA’s newest team on the map. The Thunder franchise isn’t new, but the team is, and Russell Westbrook set all of the franchise’s records. In 2017, Russell Westbrook won the NBA’s MVP award, and Westbrook became the Thunder’s second player to win MVP, behind Kevin Durant’s 2014 award.

Russell Westbrook has become a journeyman, since leaving the Thunder. After leaving the Thunder, Russell Westbrook played for the Houston Rockets and the Washington Wizards. Last season, Westbrook led the Wizards back into playoff contention. It made sense to trade for Westbrook, from the Lakers’ perspective. But, Westbrook hasn’t been a good fit, and the crowd booed him for missing an easy shot, during the Lakers’ overtime win over the New York Knicks.
