It’s no secret that the Lakers have struggled, this season. Aside from LeBron James, Russell Westbrook has caught most of the heat. Fans and the media, alike, have made Westbrook the scapegoat for the Lakers’ troubles. The truth is that injuries prevented this team from building the necessary chemistry. With so many new players and almost all of them being former franchise players, struggles were bound to happen. But, Russell Westbrook has had his own individual struggles.
Last night, the Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks. Despite it being a close game, this Mavericks’ loss highlighted what’s been wrong with the Lakers all season. Again, Russell Westbrook didn’t have the best game. Already, the Lakers have been booed by the fans, but Westbrook said that didn’t bother him. The bad play, on the other hand, has left Russell Westbrook heated. Westbrook was trying to give the Lakers a spark, when Luka Doncic bumped him.
Russell Westbrook was clearly fouled by Luka Doncic, but he didn’t get the call. Through his career, Russell Westbrook has been known for his temper. After falling to the ground, Westbrook’s temper was on full display. He went off on the refs and Austin Reaves had to hold him back from really approaching the referee.
