Nearly a decade ago, Saigon was considered the next big thing by many hip hop media outlets and he was. However, when it was time to release his debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told, Saigon faced opposition from his own label. After spending four years with his label, Saigon got his release and he released his long-awaited debut album last year.
Saigon is one of the few rappers who speaks on the issues impacting the world today, as opposed to the glitz and glamour. Recently, Saigon sat down with SOHH.com and he spoke on this, using current popular emcees, Rick Ross and Big Sean, as examples. Both considered among the top emcees in the game, Saigon pointed out their content and the support they receive.
Despite being one of the best lyricists in the game, Saigon has never received the same recognition as others, who rap about money and fame. During his interview, he spoke on this, but his comments were blown out of proportion. Saigon released a photo of him with Rick Ross and attempted to clear up his comments, leading to SOHH.com releasing the audio.
With his voice not being properly heard, Saigon released a new video, explaining what he meant and he also debuted a new single from his upcoming sophomore album, Bread & Circuses.
