Steph Curry is relieved after hitting three-pointer

Being as historically good as the Golden State Warriors comes with a fair share of backlash. From 2014 until 2019, the Warriors were perennially the NBA’s best team. If they didn’t hold the league’s best record, they held the second-best record. Each postseason, they made the NBA Finals. During the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, Steph Curry won the season MVP award.

The 2019 NBA Finals is when everything came to an abrupt halt. Kevin Durant was injured, during Game 2 of the Finals. During the series, Klay Thompson also dealt with injuries, but he returned and the Warriors fought back. They pushed the series to a Game 6, where Klay got injured again. Thompson wouldn’t play on an NBA court, again, until 2022.

Entering the 2019-2020 season, the Warriors were without Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant for different reasons. While Durant was injured, he signed with the Brooklyn Nets, during that offseason. All of this left the Warriors floundering, becoming the NBA’s worst team. Last season, Steph put the team on his back and carried them to the play-in, where they lost to the Lakers and Grizzlies.

During that run, Steph dropped 62 points in a game, against the Blazers. In the end, the Warriors were written off, after the 2021 postseason. But, this season, they raced out to the NBA’s best record, before Draymond Green’s injury. The Warriors are now behind the Suns, with the Grizzlies gaining ground. They are playing the Pistons, tonight, which is a great bounce-back game.

When Steph Curry made an early first quarter three-pointer, he was so relieved.
