Stephen Curry is back to playing, even though he’s coming off the bench. Injuries caught up to the Golden State Warriors. Prior to the Warriors going through injuries, they shared the same record as the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors fell to the third seed, where they are facing the Denver Nuggets, who hold the sixth seed. It looks like the Warriors will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round, if they can overcome the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The past few years, the Denver Nuggets have grown from obscurity into contention. Nikola Jokic emerged as a star and won last year’s MVP award. In 2019, the Nuggets came out of nowhere to win the second seed. This is when the Nuggets lost in the second round to the Blazers. During the 2020 bubble, the Nuggets upset the Los Angeles Clippers, overcoming a 3-1 deficit. The Nuggets would go onto lose to the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

Despite the Warriors not winning their usual 67 games, they have a solid playoff spot. The Warriors checked in with a 53-29 record. In Game 1, the Warriors took care of business. Stephen Curry broke down the Nuggets defense, off the bench. Golden State would get a dominant Game 1 win. At the end of the game, DeMarcus Cousins got called for a foul. Even the Warriors were confused by the call, but Boogie went off, and got ejected.
