Two years ago, today, Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash, alongside his daughter. The horrific tragedy also claimed the lives of seven others. This terrible tragedy forever changed the world, not to mention the direct lives of many. There were people who lost parents, siblings, and spouses on a day intended for family fun, surrounded by basketball.

Kobe Bryant went down in history as the most-competitive NBA player of all-time. Bryant played in the NBA for twenty years, spending the entirety of his career with the Lakers. Due to his competitiveness, Kobe was an unlikely candidate to become a coach. But, his final game, the 60 point game, inspired his daughter, Gianna Oncure Marie Bryant to begin playing basketball.

For his daughter, Kobe Bryant created a team, and served as the coach. The father/daughter duo died while trying to arrive for a Sunday game. Sadly, the lives were lost, and nothing will change that.
