Stephen Curry took control of this series, after Game 3. Unlike previous years, the Golden State Warriors had to play the Boston Celtics for the title. Normally, the Warriors are in control of their NBA Finals’ series. In the Warriors’ six appearances, they only gave up home court advantage once. As a result, the Warriors never lost Game 1 at home. Immediately, Jayson Tatum’s Celtics changed that. After three games, Boston controlled the NBA Finals 2-1.

Stephen Curry played well in every game of the series. However, Stephen Curry did not take control of any games, aside from Game 2. Facing going down 3-1, Stephen Curry led a late game charge that tied the series. Curry scored 43 points in Game 4, tying the series at 2-2. As a result, the Warriors’ retook the momentum. Prior to Game 4, the betting odds were on the Boston Celtics winning the title. Things turned to how it originally was, with Golden State being heavily favored to win.

Stephen Curry took a backseat in Game 5, however. In a balanced team effort, Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors to a win over the Celtics. As a result, the Warriors returned to Boston one win away from their fourth NBA title in eight years. Early in Game 5, the Boston Celtics dominated, which is what was expected. During this time, Marcus Smart flopped on Curry, trying to draw the foul. The attempt was so obvious that Curry laughed at him.
