Tay Spades drops Add It Up video after three year wait
Tay Spades and Lady London came together to collaborate on their trendy track, “Add It Up,” back in 2020. After amassing over 100,000 streams and counting, the viral craze added to the partnership across all DSPs, demonstrating its strong popularity. Although the song was published two years ago, the duo believed it deserved an accompanying visual. As a result, the two trailblazing talents teamed up to close out 2022 with the visuals the people have been waiting for.
Tay Spades definitely thought out of the box with this video. After all, it was in 2020 when he originally released this song. Normally, after this long, an artist would have simply moved on. However, there are an increasing number of artists returning to release videos years later. This time, Tay Spades has placed himself among that number.
Due to the title, many people would believe Tay Spades and Lady London would release a standard video full of cash, but they adopted a really unique, creative strategy for the Moses x Amani directed clip. Specifically boxing. When reflecting on the raved record, Tay Spades goes on to say:
“We were in the studio bouncing ideas back-and-forth — and realized we didn’t want to go the stereotypical route. You know.. money, cars, girls, etc … and being we ‘knocked out’ both our flows and [the] hook .. we came up with the boxing idea… add up the wins. It definitely was the right idea because it made the record come to life for sure! It was also just super fun. Lady and I go way back.. so anything we do together is always bigger than the music and of course, fun. Shoutout to my guys Jay Reeves and J.J. Green too .. who did their thing with the skits too!”
