TDE President Punch says SZA has recorded enough rap records to release an EP [VIDEO]

TDE President Punch says SZA has an EP’s worth of rap songs

Since December, SZA has been dominating the charts with her new “SOS” album. The sophomore album initially debuted at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. As a result, it went on to spend its first seven weeks at number one. Therefore, SOS reached 10 total weeks at that top position.

SOS contained 23 songs, including hits such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U,” “Shirt,” and “Kill Bill,” which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. SZA also collaborated with Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. She even blended various genres into the album, such as rap, rock, and pop.

Top Dawg Entertainment President Terrence “Punch” Henderson and SZA’s manager also appeared on the Rap Radar podcast, as SZA’s versatility was also discussed. Punch revealed that she’s tapped into more rap records, that she has enough to release an EP with them.

“She’s always bended the genre, so it wasn’t nothing new. It was just going, pushing it further. Like she doing full Rap records now… She got like maybe—she got like an EP’s worth of full rap records. Like all the way out, no singing.”

SZA is also currently venturing on her SOS North American Tour. There are nine shows left, with the next one being held on Friday night, in Dallas.
