The Weeknd returns with Take My Breath remix video
Over the past ten years, The Weeknd has come a long way. The Toronto singer debuted when there were a few artists occupying his lane. However, he did manage to break through, with “Wicked Games,” which dropped in 2012. Over the course of that year, the song continued to grow in momentum, eventually becoming a massive hit.
The Weeknd wouldn’t have a hit of that magnitude for another three years. Most of his exposure came from features and his Drake co-sign. However, instead of settling, or giving up, The Weeknd kept putting new music out. It proved to be worth it, in 2015, when he released “The Hills,” the first of his many Billboard Hot 100 number one singles.
By 2020, The Weeknd was considered one of the top names in the music industry, period. Those artists that occupied his lane remain big names. However, all of them are now looking up at The Weeknd, as he continues to make history. Breaking records is the norm for him. Already, he had a hit in the form of his single, “Take My Breath.”
The Weeknd decided to reup, with “Take My Breath,” adding Agents of Time to the single.
