Murdered while jogging, Ahmaud Arbery’s killers are now standing trial. Yesterday, Laura Hogue, the defense attorney insulted Arbery in the worst way. Defending his murder, she described him as having “long, dirty, toenails,” which prompted Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper Jones, to leave the courtroom.
Wanda Cooper Jones has stood strong, throughout this whole ordeal. Her son was killed for jogging in the wrong neighborhood, essentially. Now, the men responsible are arguing that Ahmaud Arbery deserved to die.
Watching her son described for having “long, dirty, toenails,” Wanda Cooper Jones spoke out. After court, she spoke, while still courteous in describing Laura Hogue. But, she would go onto say that Arbery is still her son, and the moments she demeaned were actually him running for his life.
