The past few years have seen Brandy not getting the type of respect she deserves for the career she’s enjoyed. Now, people know her mostly for being Ray J’s older sister. But, Brandy put him and the entire family on, years before “Moesha.”
Even while the show was on, Brandy had an active and successful music career. She even did a cameo as herself on the show, where she “met” the series title character. Once the show wrapped, in 2001, Brandy began working on her Full Moon album, her first as an adult.
Brandy released Full Moon during the summer of 2002 and the title track would become the most-popular single. Overall, it was the second single from the album and peaked during the early summer of 2002. Given how her performance at the Soul Train Awards put her music back on the map, it was fitting to spotlight this track as the Wednesday Throwback.
