Tonight, Nate Dogg’s career is being chronicled on TV One’s brand new episode of “Unsung.” Unfortunately, Nate Dogg died of his illnesses in 2011, following four years of public battle. Prior to this, Nate Dogg was the go to guy for hooks in the game.
In the early 2000s, after close to ten years in the game, Nate Dogg truly came into his own. A major boost came when Ludacris reached out to him for the lead single of his sophomore album. The single, “Area Codes,” became a big hit during the summer of 2001.
Nate Dogg put in a memorable performance of many on the Word of Mouf lead single. Unfortunately, just a decade later, the world would be mourning Nate Dogg’s loss. But, tonight, his life is being celebrated on both TV One and Hip Hop Vibe, with his contribution to “Area Codes” being this week’s Wednesday Throwback.
