YRS Jerzy’s Wednesday Throwback (on Thursday): Tevin Campbell – “Can We Talk”
By YRS Jerzy

Due to outside influences of R&B, the game has changed tremendously over the years. About twenty years ago, there was a young man who was owning the game. This young man was none other than Tevin Campbell and he came into his own during the 1993-1994 period.
Finally a full-fledged adult, Tevin Campbell proclaimed I’m Ready, which was the title of his sophomore album. The second single off the album was a major success and an eventual classic. This is Campbell’s most-recognized single, “Can We Talk.”
Technical difficulties have kept Hip Hop Vibe from doing what we need to do, but we pressed through. After all, the love for the music and our audience trumps everything else and the Tevin Campbell era is a moment that deserves to be revisited. For that, welcome back to 1993, with Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk” as the Wednesday Throwback, on Thursday, again.
