Fittingly, the nineteenth anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.’s death lands on a Wednesday. Originally, this segment was created to shed light on other old school records. But, certain days are exceptions, and with B.I.G.’s death anniversary being on Wednesday is one.

The Notorious B.I.G. ushered in the Mafioso period in hip hop and is the reason it still exists now. Relics of his style lived on in music from fellow Brooklyn rapper, Jay Z, and even now with Rick Ross. It was all a dream and 1994 was when it first saw fruition.

In 1994, The Notorious B.I.G. dropped Ready To Die, his debut album, to tremendous success. One standout single off the album was “Warning” and it later inspired Rick Ross’ visuals for “The Boss,” in 2008. But, in honor of B.I.G., the original is our Wednesday Throwback for this week.
