In the mid-1990s, Case made his debut, and immediately became a dominant R&B force. Guys like him helped Def Jam build Def Soul, as they had so many R&B singers. None of them were like Case, though, as he had his way with the game.

After working with Mary J. Blige, on “Touch Me, Tease Me,” his debut single, also featuring Foxy Brown, Case began dating her. As a newcomer, he had the baddest woman in the game. In 1999, Case returned with Personal Conversation, his second album.

Case dropped “Happily Ever After,” the lead single, which dominated the summer of 1999. When he did it, it wasn’t a move considered “big” at the time, but history made him into a real G for getting Beyonce as the love interest for the music video. Since Valentine’s Day, the HHV team chose Case’s “Happily Ever After” for the Wednesday Throwback.
