ABC apologizes for using Quavo photo in place of Takeoff

At the end of every year, ABC has a segment where they pay tribute to notable celebrities who passed away. One of them was meant to be for Takeoff, on Wednesday night.

However, instead of Takeoff, they used a photo of Quavo, instead. Takeoff and Quavo were both in the group Migos, and it was obvious that ABC seemed very confused about which rapper was who.

This move drew plenty of backlash against ABC on social media, where many made it known that this was a massive mistake. The photo displayed. This isn’t the first time that Takeoff was confused for another Migo, as this incident also happened with E! News last month, with Offset’s photo being used, instead.

ABC has since apologized, for this mistake. The network took to Twitter to acknowledge the error in what was used on the air.

Takeoff was shot and killed in the early hours of November 1. That was due to a shooting outside of a Houston bowling alley, as the result of an argument between Quavo and a group of men, due to a dice game. Takeoff was hit in the middle of the crossfire, and died at the scene. 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark has since been arrested as a suspect, and his bail is currently set at $1 million.
