After that, people told her to stay on TV and keep collecting the “Love & Hip Hop” check. Instead, she took $10 million from Atlantic Records, and didn’t look back. Now, Cardi B has enjoyed an unprecedented five years on top of the game. Despite only releasing one album, she’s had five singles top Billboard Hot 100, which is a record for a female rapper.
Cardi B is very much a brand, as she can lend her name to something and make it big. This was a big reason McDonalds did a deal with her. While McDonalds remains the most successful fast food restaurant, they are determined to stay that way. At the same time, Cardi B is the most recognizable rapper in the game.
