KO From The Pilla returns with new PILLA mixtape
K.O. From The Pilla dedicated his life to music, after seeing people around him go in different directions. A native of Highland Park, Michigan, K.O. grew up just outside of Detroit. As many are aware, Detroit is one of the toughest cities in America. At the same time, Detroit has produced many legends in music. Given the work he is putting in, K.O. The Pilla hopes to become a part of that next generation of stars. To that end, he has released PILLA as his latest project.
K.O. From The Pilla dedicated his newest release, PILLA, to his friends, his family, and his city. In fact, the mixtape’s cover is compiled of images of all of those people. To be specific, K.O.’s project cover features pictures of his friends, family members such as his nephew and his brother, and people from the city of Highland Park. The bulk of these people have either passed away, or are in jail. As a result, K.O. is honoring them on the biggest release of his career.
K.O. From The Pilla also dedicated his new release to himself. PILLA is his own name and he shared it with great people who molded himself and he got this name from his city. Delivering fourteen new tracks to the people, K.O. went for more of a “Detroit sound” on his new project. To be clear, Highland Park is a city within itself, but completely surrounded by Detroit. Many of the auto manufacturing plants were based there. Decades later, K.O. is putting the city back on the map.
