Mary J. Blige dominated many headlines, early in 2022, but has faded since. It looks like her character on “Power” will be alive, at least during the season premiere. However, elsewhere, she wasn’t doing what most of the ladies of R&B have been doing. When she made it to Usher’s concert, Mary J. was the latest woman he sang to. But when he started touching on her, Mary took his hands off her, and put them back on him.
Mary J. Blige famously went through her rough divorce. Many said the marriage was draining. Also, a lot of people blamed her ex-husband for her career’s hiatuses. As a result, when they broke up, she returned to the spotlight. Since then, she’s landed the starring role in “Power,” which she has maintained for nearly four years. In addition, she had a leading performance at the Super Bowl in 2022, and saw an overall career resurgence.
Mary J. Blige arrived in Las Vegas, where she attended Usher’s residency. This residency has given Usher a new life. Also, his career looked as if it may have been on the ropes. All of that ended when he began his residency in Las Vegas. Normally, a residency signals the end of an artist’s career. For Usher, it was a new beginning. He found something in serenading the women of the industry. However, Mary J. went viral for different reasons, as she stopped him from touching on her.
