Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 Certified Entertainment reach settlement in legal battle

Megan Thee Stallion & 1501 Certified ENT settle legal battle

Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 Certified Entertainment have been battling each other legally, for over three years now. In March 2020, Megan initially claimed that Carl Crawford and the Houston-based record label refused to let her release new music. At the time, that also included her “Suga” EP. However, Megan went on to receive a court order which granted her permission. Moreover, in August 2022, Megan sued 1501 for $1 million in damages.

Meanwhile, after Megan sued 1501 and plenty of back and forth between her and 1501 over this time, a settlement has now been reached, per Billboard. According to 1501’s attorneys, both sides have “mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences.” Furthermore, both are amicably parting ways.

“Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses,” said Carl Crawford in a statement. “[We] wish Megan the very best in her life and career.”

Meanwhile, Megan trended heavily last month, due to appearing on Cardi B’s new “Bongos” single. That was their second collaboration since 2020, as Meg appeared on Cardi’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping “WAP” single.
