Tory Lanez’s attorney claps back at reporter Meghann Cuniff
Over the past week and a half, it’s been noted that Tory Lanez’s attorney Jose Baez hasn’t filed an appeal for Tory yet. This comes after previous reports by legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, that the appeal would occur on August 15. This initial plan was as a result of Tory receiving a 10-year prison sentence earlier this month, for his 2020 Megan The Stallion shooting case. The Toronto rapper was found guilty at his December 2022 trial. However, Tory has since received almost a year credited, for time served.
Meanwhile, Jose Baez is now clapping back at Cuniff, for her reporting. This is in response to her mentioning that Tory’s appeal hasn’t been filed yet, and how Baez has recently been spending time overseas, in Italy. On Instagram, Baez explained that he vacations in Italy 2-4 times per year, and also has clients there.
Furthermore, Baez claims that Cuniff has a clear bias against Tory Lanez, and “has attacked everyone associated with him as well as made numerous inaccurate assumptions.” He added that Cuniff has never had any legal training and has never worked in the court system. As a result, Baez emphasized that Cuniff’s opinions “have little to no merit whatsoever.”
In addition to this clapback, Baez also clarified Tory’s appeal situation. He explained how they are ahead of schedule, and how the court reporter hasn’t completed all of the transcripts. Therefore, until that happens, Tory has to wait to file an appeal.
