Stephen Curry and Draymond Green block Dorian Finney-Smith
Stephen Curry is not the guy people think of as a shot blocker. That doesn’t mean that Stephen Curry won’t do the job, if the opportunity arises. Draymond Green is the self described enforcer on the Warriors’ roster. As a former Defensive Player of the Year, Draymond Green prides himself in shutting players down. Of course, Draymond Green’s focus on LeBron James cost the Warriors the 2016 NBA Finals.
Stephen Curry often talks about how the Warriors were not complete until Draymond Green came. In a recent interview with Draymond, Steph talked about always missing the playoffs. As great as Stephen Curry is, he didn’t make the playoffs until his fourth year. By that time, Stephen Curry was written off as an injury prone bust. While Stephen Curry was late to the playoff party, he, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green more than made up for the lost time.
Stephen Curry and Draymond Green have been mainstays in the NBA Finals, along with Klay Thompson. From 2015 until 2019, the Warriors made the Finals every year. With the exception of playing the Raptors, in 2019, the Warriors always played the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tonight, the Warriors began their quest to return to the Finals. This time, they have a Dallas Mavericks team that dominated them. When Dorian Finney-Smith went for a corner three, Steph and Dray dominated him.
