Timbaland talks Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, “Empire,” Aaliyah biopic, and more with “The Breakfast Club” [VIDEO]

Timbaland Breakfast Club 2During the late 1990s, Timbaland was one of the biggest producers in the game. It was during this period of time when producers really lived up to the title of “superproducer.” The Virginia hip hop scene emerged and the sound behind it was Timbaland and Missy Elliott.

However, Timbaland soon branched out, working with Aaliyah and Jay-Z, producing “Big Pimpin'” for the latter. But, in recent years, Timbaland has kept out of the spotlight. In the wake of his hiatus, Timbaland has been replaced by other producers.

Timbaland stopped by Power 105.1 this morning and he talked to “The Breakfast Club” unit of Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy. In this interview, Timbaland talked about the evolution of hip hop and production, reflecting on his time working with Jay-Z and Missy Elliott. He also spoke on the new FOX series, “Empire,” and the Aaliyah biopic.
