Rihanna and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey have been making huge impacts in COVID-19 relief efforts lately. Rihanna donated $1 million to relief efforts last week with her Clara Lionel Foundation as Jay Z did the same. Dorsey also donated $1 billion in relief efforts, which is 1/3 of his net worth.

Rih and Dorsey continue to give back to communities in a major way has the two have teamed up to donate a $4.2 million grant to domestic violence victims. The Clara Lionel Foundation and Dorsey both announced this today on Twitter as the grant will be sent to the Mayors Fund of Los Angeles. In CLF’s announcement, they included an all black photo that said “Today we’re standing with all those affected by increased incidents of domestic violence as a result of the COVID-19 Safer at Home Order in Los Angeles.” The funds will go towards shelter, meals and counseling for these individuals and their children.

During these times of the coronavirus pandemic, people are encouraged to social distance and stay at home as much as possible to prevent the spread of the virus. This sadly comes with some troubles at home such as these domestic violence incidents between couples. People aren’t able to leave the house for as long as they want now and this can create tension in households regarding certain issues between them. Big salute to Rihanna and Dorsey for making a difference as usual.
