Doja Cat backs out of The Weeknd’s “After Hours Til Dawn” Tour and festival performances, due to tonsil surgery

Doja Cat cancels upcoming performances due to tonsil surgery

On Thursday, Doja Cat took to Twitter to tell her fans that bad news may be coming soon. This was after undergoing a procedure on her tonsils. Doja revealed that she suffered an infection before the Billboard Music Awards, and explained how much nicotine she consumes, such as with vaping.

On Friday, Doja ended up revealing the bad news, that was coming. This is that she will not be part of The Weeknd’s upcoming After Hours Til Dawn Tour, as well as her scheduled festival performances. This is due to needing surgery on the tonsils ASAP, and the recovery time for it.

“Hi guys. I wanted you to hear it from me first. Unfortunately I have to have surgery on my tonsils asap. The surgery is routine but the recovery is going to take a while due to swelling. That means I have to cancel my festival run this summer as well as The Weeknd tour. I feel horrible about this but can’t wait for this to heal and get back to making music and create an experience for y’all.”

This comes after Doja won four BBMAs, last weekend. This includes categories such as Best R&B Album, Best R&B Female Artist, Best Viral Song, and Best R&B Artist.
